Mobile Phone Protocol

We would ask that you discourage your child from bringing a mobile phone to school on the grounds that they are valuable and may be lost or stolen.

However, we recognise that in Year 5 and Year 6 mobile phones may have a part to play in securing pupils’ personal safety before and after school and on journeys to and from school. Moreover, a ban would be difficult to enforce and would not be consistent with the aim of developing a culture of responsible use of a mobile phone and other digital devices by pupils.

If you feel that your child needs to bring their mobile phone to school, can you please make sure you have read the attached  Mobile Phone Protocol form and sign and return the consent slip to your child’s class teacher?

The mobile phone must be given to the class teacher at the beginning of the school day. Please note that the school accepts no responsibility for any loss or damage to a mobile phone whilst the device is on the school premises.
